MoU between the Kleon Tsetis Foundation and the Nanopoulos Foundation
The KLEON TSETIS FOUNDATION has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the NANOPOULOS FOUNDATION, strengthening the strategic collaboration the two organisations have been developing since May 2025 and laying the foundations for expanding their joint initiatives in science, innovation and digital health literacy.
The collaboration has already begun through key initiatives of the Nanopoulos Foundation, including the BioMedAi Summer School and the Health Nexus Forum. Through the signing of the MoU, the two Foundations are expanding the scope of their partnership with the shared objective of developing initiatives that promote the responsible development of Artificial Intelligence and advance digital health literacy.
The MoU signing meeting, held at the UNI-PHARMA headquarters in Kato Kifissia, Greece, on 16 July 2026, was attended by Julia Tsetis, Founder of the Kleon Tsetis Foundation, President and CEO of Tsetis Pharmaceutical Group, and Honorary Doctor of the Schools of Pharmacy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the University of Patras. Representing the Nanopoulos Foundation were its founders, Dimitri V. Nanopoulos, Distinguished Emeritus Professor of Physics at Texas A&M University and New York University, internationally recognised as one of the most highly cited theoretical physicists of our time, and Dr Olga Tzortzatou-Nanopoulou, lawyer and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, internationally recognised for her expertise in the ethical, legal and societal implications of emerging technologies, data protection, intellectual property and research ethics.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the two Foundations will jointly develop and implement research programmes and initiatives in the field of AI Health Literacy. The collaboration includes the co-development of scientific studies and research protocols, the exchange of scientific expertise and research data, mutual scientific support, and the dissemination and application of research outcomes.
The agreement also provides for the co-organisation of conferences, summer schools, educational seminars, webinars and other scientific events, as well as the joint support of initiatives that promote digital health literacy and the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare.
The Memorandum of Understanding marks the beginning of an even closer collaboration between two organisations that share a common vision: harnessing science, knowledge and technological innovation for the benefit of society, with a particular focus on the responsible development of Artificial Intelligence, the advancement of digital health literacy, and the creation of a strong collaborative ecosystem connecting academia, research institutions and industry.
